From April 1, 2018, as per the order of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways-MoRTH, it has made several major changes to improve the driving license system.

What is Parivahan?

It is a digitalized database of all information stored with RTOs-Regional Transport Offices and DTO’s District Transport Offices. It is created primarily based on character state-necessities while additionally conforming to the necessities specified inside the Motor Vehicles Act 1988.

The process of creating a learning license has been made much easier than before. You can apply by visiting Sarathi, the official website of the Ministry of Roads and Highways, Government of India. After applying, you will get a time slot for the learning license test. Arrive at a scheduled time. Take the exam and get a license.

Benefits to obtain Learning Licence (LL) in India:

– A driving license is a valid and very important identity (ID) proof. It is recognized by the Government of India.

– There are several different types of driving licenses for different types of vehicles in the country. If you have a valid driving license then you can drive in any corner of the country.

– You can use a driving license in many ways besides an identity card and address proof. It considers as a valid document in every government facility.

Eligibility for Learning Licence:

– Should be a citizen of India.

– Must be 18 years old.

– You must have an ID card.

 Age proof (any of the following):

– Birth certificate

– Pan Card

– Passport photocopy

– 10th-grade mark sheet or TC

– Transfer certificate of any school in which has the date of birth.

If you want to apply for an online driving license, go to the official website “Sarathi Parivahan Sewa” and download the form. You have to submit the form along with the required documents.

– Aadhaar Card, Ration Card, Passport, Recent telephone or electricity bill, House agreement,  LIC Bond

Age proof (Any 1 document from the below list):

– PAN Card, Passport, 10th Class mark sheet, Birth Certificate, Form No. 2 (Application Form)

– Form No. 1 and 1-A (Medical Form), Date of Birth Certificate (photocopy), Address Proof (photocopy), Prescribed fee.

How to apply for a Learning Licence (LL) on Parivahan Sarathi?

  1. You must first visit the Sarathi website of the Ministry of Road Transport, Government of India.
  2. After reaching the Sarathi Parivahan website, you must first choose your state. As soon as you select the state, a new page will open.
  3. You will get the full details here. You will see the option to apply online at the top left of the main page.
  4. Click on the option to apply online. The full list will open. You will get the learning license written on the first number in the list. Click on this option. By clicking, you will reach another page.
  5. There you will see fill applicant details, upload documents, upload photos and signature, LL test slot booking and payment of fees.
  6. At the bottom of this page, the button of Continue will appear in blue. Click on it and you will get to the new page again.
  7. Here you have to fill your complete details. Enter all the information including name, address, father’s name, date of birth.
  8. You must also choose your district. Do not make mistakes while filling in information. If there is a mistake, there will not be a chance to edit it again. So read it at least twice before submitting it.
  9. If you are going to get a four-wheeler license, also select it.
  10. After this, upload the age certificate and address certificate. You will also have to upload a passport size photo and a scanned copy of the signature.
  11. After this, the option of online fee submission will open. You can pay the fees through debit card, credit card or net banking.
  12. After depositing the fees you will be provided with a time slot from the RTO office of your district. You will be informed about which date you have to appear in the RTO office for the learning license.
  13. You should appear before the licensing authority at the RTO office along with all your original documents at the allotted time.
  14. To get a learning license, you have to take an online test. During this time your certificates will also be examined. After this, you will have to give a driving test.
  15. After passing both the exams, you will get a learning license. The validity of the learning license is for 6 months.
  16. During this period, you have to learn driving. While driving during the learning period, you need to write ‘L’ in capital letters on the front and back of the car.
  17. You have to apply online to get a permanent license within 6 months of your learning license.
  18. No need to give money to anyone in the RTO office. You have already made all the payments online. If someone asks you for the payment, then a complaint can lodge online.
  19. Upon passing, the learning license will arrive at your home address within 7 days.

To check your Learning Licence (LL) status, an online facility is available. With which you can know what the current status of your learning license is.

1: Open Website:

First of all, you have to open the Parivahan Sarathi website Parivahan.gov.in, the Government of India’s transport service website on your phone or computer.

2: Click on Online Services & License Detail:

After the website will open, you will see the option of Online Services. Click on it, after that you will come across some options, out of which you have to click on Know Your License Details.

3: Fill Details:

Now you will have a page open in front of which you have to fill some information such as – Enter License Number, Date of Birth and Verification Code and click on Check Status below.

4: Show Your Driving License Details:

After clicking the check status, a webpage will open in which you will see all the information about your driving license such as – Status, Holder Name, Date of Issue.

How to Check RC status on Sarathi Parivahan Sewa?

Visit this link – https://parivahan.gov.in/rcdlstatus/ and enter your registration number. Below this, you will have to enter the verification code. Once entered carefully, click on the “Check Status” button.

How to check Traffic Challan on Parivahan Sarathi?

– To check your traffic challan, first of all, you have to go to the website echallan.parivahan.gov.in . You can also open this Parivahan Sarathi website on your mobile or computer.

– After this, you have to first click on the Check Challan Status given in the site.

– Check the challan by entering the vehicle number. Here you will get 3 options (Challan Number, Vehicle Number, DL Number). You click on the option with the vehicle number.

– Here, enter your vehicle number, followed by the captcha code. After this, click on Get Detail. As soon as you click on it, you will know that there is any challan issued. Apart from this, you can also check the challan by entering your DL number.

Pay the challan online on Parivahan Sarathi:

If you see the details of the challan in the website, then you can also make payment online. For this, you have to click on “Pay Now” next to the invoice. Under the process, you will have to verify your mobile number through OTP.

After this, you will reach the e-challan payment website of the respective state. Now you have to click on Next. After this, a payment confirmation page will appear on your screen.

Now you have to click on Proceed. Now choose your desired payment gateway and make payment.

If you have not violated the traffic rules and you get the wrong e-challan, then you can also raise a complaint to Parivahan Sarathi.

Things to keep in mind during the Learning Driving License Test:

– You must have your vehicle.

– The vehicle should be the same for which you are getting a learning driving license. And RTO does not give you any vehicle.

– You have to write your vehicle registration number and model of the vehicle above the form.

– The officer may ask you many questions. So you have to prepare beforehand so that you can get it quickly.

– When you clear the test, you should meet a designated authority.

– At the time of getting the form 1, 2 and 4 should be kept together and you have to get signed by the officer who takes the test. After checking these forms, the designated officer signs it. Get a copy of it, they get it deposited in their counter. After all these procedures, you will get your “New Learning Driving License” by post.
